Cheiro Hojimaro slumped in the seat of his desk as the sound of the bell rang, and he began to openly think again why he was bothering to be in class today. Surely the other classmates looking around suspiciously had taken notice, and behind their friendly facades were thinking rude things in their own rich language. Hajimaro Company hadn't hit it big yet; it was still in the process of being rich and not richy-rich like the businesses of the other classmates, so Cheiro assumed they hadn't been forced to be too friendly with him yet. And it suited him fine, because he didn't want fake friends like that, anyway.
The teacher began to talk, and Cheiro didn't bother to listen; it was practically still homeroom, so there wasn't any need for listening yet. Bring on the business classes, and maybe then he'd pay attention. Maybe. Cheiro tugged at the headphones hanging on his neck and put them to his ears as he made himself comfortable in the seat, slumping as much as possible while still being seen. He read the teacher's lips until he mouthed out Cheiro's name, in which Cheiro responded with a long hand wave. That takes care of homeroom participation. And he closed his eyes, enveloping himself in the music.
He took out a little blue notebook, his own personal journal of sorts, glancing at the pages, while trying to keep the facade of doing nothing at all..

It was no surprise to Hiroyume Okunake that she entered class right during roll call; it wasn't like her little feet could speed walk her faster than 2 miles per hour, anyway. The maid would have been displeased if she heard Hiroyume was running down the halls, anyway...
Hiroyume bowed to the teacher first, excusing her late presence, and then went off to take her seat. It looked like the only seat available was right next to a "raspberry-hair-colored" boy slumping on the desk. Hurriedly, since class was soon to begin, she rushed to the seat and put her things on the desk before finally settling down on the seat. Once or twice, she glanced at the boy sitting next to her. It would be proper to introduce herself to him, right? Because introductions were always made first...
"Um," Hiroyume said hesitantly, trying to catch the attention of the male next to her; for some reason, this felt really embarrassing. "My name is Hiroyume Okunake. Thank you for allowing me to sit next to you."

Through half open eyelids, Cheiro watched as a little girl walked into the classroom, bowed, and walked his way. His nose twitched as he thought he smelled a rich girl. The quick, brisk movements, the etiquette, not to mention he was in a school full of rich kids...and Cheiro couldn't help but shiver a bit as she sat by his side.
Reluctantly, he lowered the volume on his music player when it switched to a song he could only mildly tolerate, but in this movement, he caught the girl looking at him. He didn't feel comfortable being glanced at, so he glared right at her after she introduced herself. Heck, why was she introducing herself anyway? What would she get for being the friend of a Hojimaro? Business hadn't skyrocketed yet...
"Don't think so highly of yourself," he murmured loud enough for her to hear. "You chose to sit there, so deal with it." He straightened himself in the chair to show off the height difference; the seven inch height difference. That ought to intimidate her. And yet he wondered, what was the point in keeping her away, anyway...

Hiroyume, after introducing herself, had gone into her book bag and taken out a few high-class notebooks and pens. She had placed them neatly on her desk when the boy next to her opened his mouth and said those rude words.
Regardless of what they meant, Hiroyume listened to everything, although it would be a lie to say she wasn't startled by the words. Perhaps she hadn't used the proper etiquette with this classmate, and this was what happens to those without etiquette? Or maybe she hadn't introduced herself politely enough? Oh, why was etiquette so confusing?!
But she sucked in these thoughts and took a deep breath to calm herself before she bowed her head. "My apologies," she whispered, and perhaps he would have accepted the apology....if, in the sudden swoop to bow her head to her neighbor, she hadn't knocked down all her pens to the floor between them.
"Oh, again, my apologies!" She tried to reach her pens from her bowing position, but that was practically impossible.

Cheiro looked to the side in annoyance, before slumping back into his chair a bit.
"You're such a nuisance," he murmured irritably. "What a clumsy aristocrat."
He glanced down at the pens below and then slumped even lower to pick up all the pens on the floor, regaining his composure to plant them loudly on her desk. Then he stood up to his full-length, placing his headphones back in his ears, and sighed loudly.
"You know what, I'm out."
In mere mockery, he turned to Hiroyume and bowed in exaggeration. "Excuse me!"
And then walked cooly out of Class 1-C.

Hiroyume watched with a strained expression as he insulted her. If the maid was here, she'd demand her to apologize for her insolence, but she wasn't and Hiroyume didn't want to. Her neighbor was really annoying, after all, and she really didn't understand him.
...So you could understand a bit of her confusion when he brought her pens from the floor and put them on the desk. That didn't seem to flow with the rest of his act! Maybe he was a bit nice after all....and a flow of guilt hit her as she reminded herself she hadn't thanked him. "A-ah.."
Looks like she was a bit too late! He bowed to her and then left out of the classroom (although the bowing part seemed to be for different reasons, Hiroyume considered it respectful and nice of him~). Sighing a bit and looking ahead at the teacher and classmates, who had taken notice of the whole encounter, she stood up and bowed in apology. "Um, please excuse our behavior, sensei, everyone!"
After sitting down properly, and returning her attention back to class, she heard the whisper of the girls ahead of her. "That Hojimaro, always thinking he's better than us!" Hiroyume didn't know whether she should agree to that or not, considering she didn't know Hojimaro well enough. Glancing to his empty seat, she noticed a little blue notebook on top of his seat.
Casually, she leaned over to take it. It must be Hojimaro's if it was on his seat! Eventually, she'd have to return it to him...and maybe then she'd be able to learn a bit more about him.
